正月初五，也叫“破五”，是我國的（de）傳統節日，在這一（yī）天有很多講究和習俗，在《歲時瑣事》中記載說：“欲有所作為，必過此五日，始行之”，意思就（jiù）是在春節期間有很（hěn）多（duō）規矩（jǔ）和講究，不能亂說話，不能說不吉利的話，過了初五（wǔ）之後人們不必有這些忌諱。
“破五”這一天，人們最在意的一件事情就是“送窮迎財”，即（jí）智（zhì）窮、學窮（qióng）、文窮、命（mìng）窮、交（jiāo）窮，民間把這五窮稱之為五窮鬼，大家（jiā）會（huì）用不同的習俗（sú）將這五窮送走（zǒu），比如（rú）在陝（shǎn）西韓城一帶，大家會（huì）炒麻豆，將豆子炒到（dào）劈裏啪啦作響，意思就時把壞的運氣“崩走（zǒu）”。當（dāng）然除了送窮之外，這5件事，破五一定不要忘。
一、迎財神
據說正月（yuè）初五是財神的生日，從這一（yī）天淩晨開始，人們就開（kāi）始相繼迎財神，普通（tōng）人家（jiā）會給財神供上水（shuǐ）果，麵條或者餃子（zǐ），在燒香求（qiú）拜，燃放鞭（biān）炮以此求得財運，而且（qiě）給財神貢過的吃食，再讓家裏人吃，來年財（cái）運一定會旺。
財神即五路神。所謂五路，指東西南北中，意為出門五路，皆可得財。除了五路神之外，還有武財神，文財神等說法，但（dàn）無論拜哪個財神（shén），隻要心誠（chéng），皆能帶來（lái）財運。
二、吃餃子
俗話說“好吃不如餃子”，在中國大大小（xiǎo）小的節日裏（lǐ），都離不開吃餃子，除了美（měi）味之（zhī）外，它已經是中華美食重要的組成部（bù）分。從初一到初五禁忌比（bǐ）較多，所以到了破（pò）五吃餃子，表示慶賀不在有禁忌了。另外還有人“包餃子，捏住小人嘴”的說法，意思就是來年小人少說壞話。
三、打掃房子
從（cóng）除夕開（kāi）始到正月初四，通常是不會打掃房子的，尤其是掃地（dì），老一輩人認為會把財運掃走，而到了破五這一天，就要由內（nèi）到外把垃（lā）圾掃成一個堆，然後（hòu）放上鞭炮，點然後劈裏啪（pā）啦，這樣（yàng）不好（hǎo）的運氣都會一掃而（ér）光，剩下（xià）的便是財氣和福氣。
四、放鞭炮
正月初五這一天，家家戶戶都（dōu）會燃放鞭炮，而（ér）且鞭炮越響越長，寓意就（jiù）越好，代表著把窮運，以及各種不吉利都能轟去，有（yǒu）人（rén）還會燃放（fàng）二踢腳，也叫“崩窮”，把晦氣和窮氣統統都崩掉。有些商戶在初五這一天也會正式（shì）營業，放一串鞭炮，寓意今天財源滾滾。
